The ships they sailed to Dublin's bay, their coats so red in the light of day

The locals hide their golds away, but chuckle as the Brits do stray

The Guinness pours, they cannot sup, for laughter at the redcoats' luck

The fiddles play a merry tune, we jest 'bout those from 'cross the dune

If I were a poet, me words would scoff and muse upon how they got lost

Oh, down the cobblestones they roam, feigning like they rule this home

In the pubs where tales are spun, beneath the wake of setting sun

Their maps all twisted, upside down, they wander far from London's crown

The lasses laugh behind their hands, the lads make jests at redcoat bands

Their orders stiff, as stout does flow, in Irish jest, the night does grow

[Chorus]

O we'll sing and dance, and the joke's on them

In Dublin's heart, we're the hidden gem

They raid our houses, beg and plunder

Right after their, loud cannon thunder

Our kids o they dare to stay

while watching them like mindless prey

Their muskets shine, but not their wits, trailing mud on cobblestone bits

The city laughs, we know the game, their empire's pride, our local fame

Another round, we'll toast their tries, while they march under Irish skies

They claim they come to civilize, but can't tell whiskey from their spies

[Verse 3]

They speak of order, lines so straight, but can't navigate our city's gate

A toast, my friends, to their parade, in uniforms grandly mislaid

The ladies curtsey, always missin'

Faint amusement in their kissin'

Brits confused by lilt and sway, as Dublin's daughters lead astray

The craic is mighty, tales are spun

Mischief under the emerald sun

[Chorus]

O we'll dance and jest till the dawn's first light
